Born in Montreal, Canada, Catherine Benny’s earliest paintings depicted various street scenes in and around her hometown.
Catherine’s work is displayed in residential buildings and government offices in and around her hometown of Montreal, as well as in private collections. Over the years, her repertoire has grown to include both nature and urban landscapes. Creative Approach: Catherine has developed an approach to painting over the years that involves blending colors directly on the canvas using a palette knife and oil paints. She does not sketch her ideas prior to painting, they change as does the texture on the canvas; the results are rich and layered backgrounds that give the sense of traveling into a painting. |
