THE MAY CUTLER AWARD

Picture
MAY CUTLER - Publisher, Author, playwright, politician and supporter of the arts. 1923 - 2011

2017- The MAY CUTLER ARTS AWARD was established to encourage Canadian artists and will be awarded as part of The Canadian "BRUSH OFF" Juried Painting Competition.

May Cutler was a fearless Quebec book publisher who championed children’s literature in Canada with such classics as Roch Carrier’s, The Hockey Sweater and William Kurelek’s, A Prairie Boy’s Winter. Her love for original art created a passion in those around her.

She was the first woman elected mayor of the Montreal suburb of Westmount.

2011- The MAY CUTLER ARTS FUND - This Fund was created in memory of  MAY EBBITT CUTLER, to fulfill May's dreams of creating an International Sculpture Garden along with other important art initiatives.
